I was born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon. My childhood and adolescence were spent in an all girls’ French school run by nuns. The Lebanese war years saw me shuttling between London and Lebanon. I studied Theatre at Beirut University College and later graduated, Magna Cum Laude, from Monmouth College in Illinois. I then started a Masters in Film at Columbia University in New York but finished it in Boston. Somewhere along the way I got stuck in Andre Tarkovsky’s cinematic vision until I fell into a job as a producer at Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising in London. After working there for almost 5 years, I received the Big Balls Award from Maurice Saatchi himself no less. I moved back to Beirut and continued working for Saatchi’s and later for a production company producing TV commercials, which in turn took me to Milan where I met the man of my dreams, a Palestinian born in Lebanon. We married and moved to Dubai where we still reside. In Dubai I got a job as an Executive producer in a TV station and was then hand picked to launch the English language Dubai One TV production department for which I won an award. I have two wonderful children age 9 and 12 and oh yeah… I’m a proud Armenian who has volunteered to use my knowledge and time to work with handicapped and under-privileged children on different projects in Armenia.

i am so delighted and feel somewhat personally honoured (not sure why…) that you decided to share your story of which I was allowed to get a little glimpse last year.
Thank you for this gift.
Much love,
Bettina
